Missing Pieces
I
am developing a new Dance Theatre piece about Disability called "Missing
Pieces" with Karen Lynne. It concerns the Hauxwell family in
Darlington.
We are seeking to take this to full production and would be interested to hear from anyone who might be interested in investing in such a play. Theatre Angels for instance or production or theatre companies looking for something new.
We have had experience running a Theatre Production company and are happy to supply a script to serious inquirers. We have some interest from Commercial producers.

Karen Lynne is related to the famous Farmer Hannah Hauxwell who suffered great privation on her farm in the famous series of documentaries chronicling her struggles - and this family connection
also endured great problems with great humour and courage! It must be a
Hauxwell trait!
We have based our story around their struggles in an
epic show that follows them from 1929 to 1960 and through the Second
World War.
Although the piece has disability at its core it also looks
at how a Working Class family, with a strongly principled Socialist Dad,
who aspired to a better life, managed in the face of appalling
obstacles to survive.
We follow Harry Hauxwell and Violet and the
Hauxwell girls through their extraordinary story. We are appealing to
Darlington people to give us a snapshot of life between 1929 and 1960 - it would be useful to hear from
people who were part of that life.
We are also looking for more people who may have known the Hauxwell Bagley and Foreman families at that time. We have appealed through the Northern Echo - click on the link below:
